No one hit the rock bottom without making bad decisions. In fact it's a series of bad decisions, one leading to another. Ask anyone who lost a fortune in the stock market and they will agree. It begins with one bad decision, and to rectify that in a scarcity mindset, you make another bad decision. And the domino effect takes over.
The worst part is that you are now at the rock bottom and you dont even know why. You dont know where exactly you went wrong and why did you continue on the bad decisions despite knowing about the great fall that might happen.
Its bad decisions, the Psychological traps you fell into, which you wouldn't realise unless painted red and projected on a 70mm screen.
The human brain is making decisions all the time. Right from the moment you wake up. How warm you shower is to be, which shirt to wear, how much sugar in the coffee - the day is full of decisions, decisions, decisions.
A very interesting fact, that you must pay attention to is - that the number of conscious decisions that you can make in a day is limited. And that is a limitation of the human brain. Again - the human brain can only make a limited number of good and conscious decisions in a day.
High achievers, have learnt this well in time - and they avoid putting their brain into the 'decision making process' for smaller things. They look at the 'decision making ability' as capital and decide to invest it on important things.
Do you wonder why Steve Jobs or Mark Zuckerberg wear the same t shirt everyday ?
Because, they decided not to waste any mental capital on wardrobe choices.
They preserve all of their mental capacity for the important decisions they have to make in the day, some of which have changed the world.
But, despite being careful, some of us still make wrong decisions. The dangerous one's are those which appear right but turn out to be wrong. But even more, fatal are the one's which you cant even see. The one's which your brain is trained not to see.
These are the PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAPS
The old ways of thinking and reasoning. We have become so used to these methods of thinking that we think they are natural and obvious. But they are not. They are conditioned. These are logical fallacies, which we accept without a question.
Its important to break these logical fallacies to avoid pitfalls. And it's even more important to know, that if you are falling into PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAPS early in the process of decision making, then you are totally taking the wrong route and you are bound to land up at the wrong place.
Know this, a screw-driver is a tool. Its job is to unscrew. But you cannot use the same screw-driver for every screw. It has to fit the size. Else, you would end up ruining the screw, and now your only option is to bring in a big hammer to break it open. Do you understand the extent of damage ?
In the same way, you cannot use the same logic to solve every problem. It has to be issue specific and fit the need. Else you fall into a PSYCHOLOGICAL TRAP and what ensues is a bigger damage.
